MacCALLUM, Ella R. Peacefully at Stepping Stone Place, Westmeath on Saturday, July 26th, 2008 at the age of 88 years. Ella MacCallum (nee Achtenberg) of Pembroke, dearly loved wife of the late Borden (Mac) MacCallum. Dear mother of Wayne (wife Mary Ellen), North Vancouver. Grandmother of Catherine Gamroth (husband Emmett), and David MacCallum. Daughter of the late Albert and Louise Achtenberg (nee Gorr). Sister of Roheina Kirk (husband late Gordon), Pembroke. Predeceased by sister Alice Rossow (husband late Rodney); and brothers Edward, Erwin, Conrad and Norman Achtenberg. Ella was very dear to her nieces, nephews and friends. Ella was a valued member of the downtown business community for many years. A woman of many talents, she will be dearly missed. A Memorial Reception will be held at Hamilton Hall, 148 Renfrew Street, Pembroke on Saturday, August 9th at 2 p.m. (As an expression of sympathy, donations to the charity of your choice would be appreciated).
