McINTOSH, Eleanor Louise On Thursday, March 29, 2012 at Miramichi Lodge, in her 88th year. Eleanor McIntosh is survived by her sisters Anne Pennock (Mervin), Thunder Bay and Patsy Frederick (Lloyd), Pembroke. Also survived by sister-in-law Betty Burgess (Peever), Pembroke. Loving aunt of Harold McIntosh (Caroline), Jack McIntosh, Diane Tomlinson, and Debbie McIntosh, all of Toronto; Leslie Prange (Stewart), Wellesley; Bill Pennock (Susan), Thunder Bay; and Rob Pennock (Sharon), Nakina. Beloved aunt of Paul Frederick (Sheila) and Brent Frederick (Kathy), Pembroke. Great-aunt to 21 great-nieces and nephews. Much loved by Sarah & Will Frederick, Pembroke, Laurie Martin (Brad), Whitehorse and Susan Prange, Wellesley. Predeceased by parents Len & Alma McIntosh, brothers W.C. (Bill) & Hugh McIntosh (Norma) and sister Marilyn McIntosh. Eleanor was a WWII veteran serving in the RCAF. She had a lengthy career as a printer working at the Ottawa Citizen, Calgary Herald, and the Pembroke Observer, as well as private printing house in New York City. Eleanor's second career was with the Corps of Commissionaires, when she worked for many years at 240 Sparks St., retiring with the rank of WOI. Eleanor loved to travel, play golf and cards. Her sense of humour and her easy laugh will be very missed by those who knew and loved her. Visitation will be held at the Malcolm, Deavitt & Binhammer Funeral Home, 141 Renfrew St., Pembroke on Sunday, April 1, 2012 from 1-3:00 p.m. Funeral Service in the Chapel on Sunday at 3:00 p.m. followed by cremation. Interment of ashes in Calvin/First Presbyterian Cemetery. Members of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #72 are requested to assemble at the funeral home for a service on Sunday at 1:30 p.m. (As an expression of sympathy, donations to Community Living or Cerebral Palsy would be appreciated.)
