LAVERGNE, Edward "Sandy" (Retired City of Pembroke Employee) In Pembroke Regional Hospital with his family by his side on Wednesday, March 4, 2009 at the age of 81 years. Sandy Lavergne, resident of Marianhill, and formerly of 279 McKenzie St., Pembroke, husband of the late Ann Lavergne (nee Yeas). Dear father of Betty Ann Descarie (husband Bernie), Ottawa; Tom Lavergne (wife May), Petawawa; Susan Doughty (husband Dan), Kitchener; Linda Henderson (husband Bill), Petawawa; Tracy Astle (husband Andre), Pembroke; and Mark Lavergne (fiancé Susan Duval), Ottawa. Grandfather of 13 grandchildren: Penny Descarie, Ottawa; Rosey Doughty (husband Chris Godin), Guelph; Cindy Doughty, Kitchener; Jeff Henderson (wife Laura Yackobeck), Petawawa; Bill Lavergne (wife Jenn Byers), Pembroke; Dixie Lavergne (Dave Fleury), Chapeau; Jen Lavergne (husband Adam Burns), Cobden; Christine Henderson, Petawawa; Ashley Astle (fiancé Randy Pleau), Pembroke; Cheyenne Astle, Pembroke; Jessie Lavergne, Petawawa; Taijaa Astle, Pembroke; Joey Lavergne, Belleville, and Keyanna Lavergne, Ottawa. Great grandfather of 13 great-grandchildren: Sylvain & Samantha Cote; Brandon, Brianna, Kiara & Robbie Henderson; Tyler & Tamara Lavergne; Maddy Godin; Brooke & Ben Burns; and Braydon & Kaydence Pleau. Son of the late Albert & Bernadette Lavergne (nee Renaud). Predeceased by grandson Robert Henderson; twin brother Frank Lavergne (wife Bette); sisters-in-law Susan Malone (husband Bob), Theresa Mask (husband Joe), and brother-in-law Harold Lewis (wife Bertha). Resting at the Malcolm, Deavitt & Binhammer Funeral Home, 141 Renfrew St., Pembroke on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m and Saturday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Service in the Chapel on Sunday, March 8, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. Spring Interment in Holy Trinity Anglican Cemetery.
