Dr. Tina Zaleski

April 3, 1963 — September 3, 2024

With love and sadness, we announce the passing of Dr. Tina Zaleski in Pembroke at the age of 61. She leaves behind her parents, Ron Zaleski and Carrol Young, her sister Katherine Dockendorff (Huntley), her niece Shelby Dockendorff, nephew Wesley Dockendorff, many friends, her amazing team at the Stafford Animal Hospital, and her loyal dog Dudley.

Tina’s passion in life was helping animals. After graduating from the Ontario Veterinary College in 1992, Tina spent many years providing care for all different types of animals before settling down in Pembroke to open the Stafford Animal Hospital. In 2024, she officially opened the brand new home of Stafford Animal Hospital, fulfilling her lifelong dream of building and developing her dream veterinary clinic. Besides her love for animals, Tina also loved listening to classic rock. Her favourite artists included the Tragically Hip, Queen, Tom Petty, the Spoons, and Jesse Malin. Everyone who knew her knew of her love of Little Steven’s Underground Garage for all her rock and roll favourites.

Tina was loved by so many. She is remembered by her friends and family for her laugh and sense of humor, her determination, and for living her life on her own terms. Her favourite saying was “it is what it is”.

Tina’s family and friends will be hosting a Celebration of Life on Saturday, September 14th from 2-5 p.m. with words of remembrance begining at 3 p.m. at Shady Nook Recreation Centre, 80 Richardson Crescent, Pembroke. All who knew Tina are invited to come share good memories, remember Tina’s many accomplishments, and listen to Tina’s favourite music. For those wishing, in lieu of flowers donations may be made to Ontario SPCA Renfrew County Animal Centre and the OVC Pet Trust.  Funeral arrangements entrusted to Malcolm, Deavitt & Binhammer Funeral Home.
