Doris Olga Ida Biesenthal (nee Thom)

It is with great sadness, we announce the loss of our beloved mother, Doris, who passed away peacefully with her girls by her side at the Pembroke Regional Hospital in her 92nd year. 

Wife of the late Harold “Harry” Biesenthal and by first marriage, the late David Orville Markus. She is lovingly remembered by her five daughters, Donna (Len Foubert), Debra DeMarco (Rob Edge), Lori (Garry Lavallie), Heather (Romeo DelRosario) and Leanne Bush (Dan Hiuser). She was a loving Nan to her 10 grandchildren, Jody, Chad, Brady, Daniel, Kyle, James, Marcus, Tanyss, Alexandria, and Lauren and GG to her 11 great- grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson. Predeceased by parents John & Frieda Thom (nee Yahn), brothers Earl Yahn (Iris), Roy Thom (Ruth), Harold Thom (Gloria), Eldon Thom (Viola), and sister Shirley Nolan (Jack). Doris’ beautiful smile is remembered by many, especially those from the Thom and Markus families.

A huge thank you to Pastor Scott Schellenberger for his presence and his kindness at this difficult time and Dr. Savoie and the third-floor nursing staff at PRH for taking such wonderful care of our mother.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Pembroke Regional Hospital would greatly be appreciated.

A Memorial Service will be held at Zion Lutheran Church, 454 Miller St., Pembroke on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. with interment of ashes in Zion Lutheran Cemetery. Refreshments and a celebration of Doris’ life will continue in the Church’s Parish Hall. Arrangements entrusted to Malcolm, Deavitt & Binhammer Funeral Home, Pembroke.
