GERRITY-STIDOLPH, Doreen (August 10, 1934 - March 26, 2014) - At Caressant Care, Cobden, peacefully surrounded by love, Doreen embarked on a new journey, twinkling blue eyes matching the day's brilliant sky, joining her adored and greatly missed son Adrian Wharton, who predeceased her in 1990. Doreen was a devoted wife to Leonard Stidolph, and a cherished mum to Rick Wharton and his wife Lorelei Adlam. Nana is deeply loved and missed by their children Sarah, Brendan and Joshua. Loving mother to Julian (Nicole) and proud grandma of Dylan, Brittany, Logan, Robin, Jonas, Cassidy and Julian. Survived by daughter Clare, and grandchild Sara. Born and raised in Manchester, England, Doreen was educated at Mount Pleasant Teacher's College in Liverpool, and Strawberry Hill in Twickenham. She later went on to attain her Master's Degree at York University, Toronto. Doreen was a gifted Special Education teacher and touched the lives of many. She was adored by her Caressant Care family, whom she loved and touched, and who filled her final years with dignity, love, and exceptional care. Doreen had a strong faith which helped her deal with her many lifelong health issues from which she has now found healing. Special thanks to Dr. Lavigne and staff, Cobden and Pastor Svante Olson for the many visits and spiritual care.
