Diane Davidson-Ethier

d. December 20, 2020

Davidson-Ethier, Diane – passed away peacefully at the Ottawa General Hospital on Sunday December 20th of 2020 at the age of 70, with her son and daughter-in-law by her side.  Diane is finally reunited with the love her life, her best friend and husband married 43 years, Stephen Ethier.  Stephen has been patiently waiting for his bride to return to his side for 16 years.  There is great comfort in knowing that in their reunion, there is only grace and celebration, as we hold their memory.  They will enter their final resting place together, alongside their furbaby, Cassie (shih-tzu).

Mother of Curtis (Holly) of Pembroke and loving grandmother to Jaxon.  Daughter of the late Mary and Ernest (nee Anderson).  Daughter-in-law of the late Lola and Leo Ethier.   Sister and best friend of the late Donna Ranger (John) of Pembroke.  Aunt and godmother to Lindsey (Jordan) Toner (nee Ranger). Great aunt to Hudson, Crews and Blakley of Arnprior.  Loving and loyal friend and cousin of Gail and Roger Perry of Pembroke as well as friend and confidante Mary Lou Morin of Allumette Island.

Remembered lovingly by her brothers and sisters through marriage; Betty and Earl Grieve of Waltham.  Charles and Susan Ethier of Waltham.  Mary and Allan Pilon of Pembroke.

Aunt to Kerry Arnold (Rick), Derik Grieve (Laurie), Mary-Beth Goyette (Denis), Tanya Kidd (Ian), Nick Ethier (Katie), Matthew Pilon (Andrea), Brad Pilon (Michelle).

Great aunt to Jessica, Samantha, Connor, Troy, Blake, Alex, Cassie, Olivia, Ryker.

Great great aunt to Isabella and Sophia.

Honoring Diane’s steadfast wishes, cremation has taken place and no visitation or service will be held.

A special thank you to all of the doctors, nurses and other health care professionals at Ottawa Civic Hospital, Deep River Hospital, Pembroke Regional Hospital and Ottawa General.  Under trying times, your compassion is deeply appreciated.

Diane will be remembered as a soft spoken, kind and patient woman.  Diane was always welcoming of conversation with a kind ear to listen when you needed to talk.  Diane worked for the Grey Sisters and Grey Sisters of the Immaculate Conception as their hair dresser for many years before enjoying retirement in Pembroke. Diane will be missed earth side but reunited with many she spoke so fondly of that held a piece of her heart until they met again.

Even in our sadness of her passing we celebrate her life and take joy in knowing she is in a place surrounded by love from those who have been waiting to walk her home.
