Steele, David Thomas (WW II Veteran) - peacefully, with family by his side, at Miramichi Lodge, Pembroke on Thursday, May 22, 2014 in his 89th year. David Steele of Pembroke, beloved husband of Jill Steele (nee Tario). Father of Maureen McGillivary (Barry), Pembroke; Rob Steele (Shelley), Kitchener; and Leanne Thom (Gordon), Cobden. Grandfather to Amanda (Ray Delarge), Amy (Tim Quade) & Rebecca McGillivray; and Matt (Emily Wilson) & Erin Steele. Great-grandfather of Gaby, Logan & Katrina. Son of the late Thomas & Agnes Steele (nee Young). Brother of Betty Richardson. Predeceased by sister Marion Scott (the late Kenneth). Visitation will be held at the Malcolm, Deavitt & Binhammer Funeral Home, 141 Renfrew St., Pembroke on Sunday, May 25, 2014 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held in the chapel on Monday at 11:00 a.m. Interment in Wesley United Cemetery, Pembroke. The Royal Canadian Legion Br. 72 is requested to assemble for a service on Sunday at 7:00 p.m. Members of the Masonic Lodge are requested to assemble for a service on Sunday at 7:30 p.m. As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Salvation Army or Shriners Hospitals for Children would be appreciated.
