Corinne GRAY

d. January 20, 2010

GRAY, Corinne Mae (1923-2010) Corinne will be remembered by all for her accomplishments, her intelligence, her charm and her giving disposition. She was passionate and unique. She will be further remembered by her family for her strength, her guidance, her patience and her strong will. Born in Saskatoon, Corinne lived in Dundee, Scotland and in Ottawa before coming to Pembroke where she has resided since 1963. Corinne enjoyed a diverse work background, from medical receptionist to radio announcer, air traffic controller and then back to a hospital setting at the Pembroke Civic in the nursing office until her retirement in 1989. Corinne was an avid reader, always up on current events and quick to express her point of view. She had musicality, a flair for drama and friends in all walks of life. She will be greatly missed by her family: Peter (Jennifer Iredale) and their children Meg and Adam; Suzanne (Ron Prefasi) and their children Kirstin (Patrick Campbell), Kelly (Myra Gauvreau and their son Jonah), Alexandra (Paul Horning and their daughters Taylor and Peyton); Corinne (the late Kevin Knight) and her daughter Rebecca Beacham; Jane and her son Symon Taylor; and Kirstie (Janey Lynch). Corinne was "Nana Gray" to her extended family Tricia and Russell Dennis; Sean, Nid and Emma Lynch; Aaron, Brandon (Coralee) and Jordan Knight. Corinne was wife to Frank Gray (deceased), and is survived by her sister Aline VanDine, Ottawa, and brother Ron Collie (Jane Rees), Calgary as well as brother-in-law Len Gray and his wife Alexina, Aberdeen Scotland. She is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews throughout Canada, the U.K. and China. The family would like to thank neighbours, volunteers and friends for their kindness, especially over the last year in helping Corinne to remain at home as long as she was able. A special thank you to the 3rd floor medical staff of the Pembroke Regional Hospital. Please join us for a gathering at her home to honour this very special woman on Saturday January 23 between 1:00 and 4:00. In keeping with Corinne's free spirit, acts of kindness and good deeds for others would be appreciated in lieu of flowers.
