COOPER, Cora Adela – passed away peacefully at her home in Supples Landing on Tuesday, February 5, 2019 in her 95th year.
Cora Cooper (nee Sickles) was the beloved wife for 64 years of the late James Cooper. Dear mother of Jan Elder (Bob), Stonecliffe and predeceased by son Jim Cooper (Kathleen), Richmond. Dear Grandmother of Chris Cooper; Steve Cooper (Tracy); Tricia Smith (Kevin); Rob Elder (Cheryl); Mike Elder (Amy). Great Grandmother to Jack, Heidi, Ashlee, Allie, Matthew, Mason, Josh and Nick. Daughter of the late Mason and Delcie Sickles (nee Allcorn). Predeceased by sisters Rena Chaplin (Frank); and Audrey Prud'homme (Jacques). Survived by many nieces and nephews.
During her life of service to others, Cora was awarded Serving Sister of St. John Ambulance by the Governor General; donated her time to helping with multiple church events throughout the years; volunteered in the hospital gift shop for 40 years and as treasurer to the Pembroke Branch of St. John Ambulance for 27 years.
The family expresses its appreciation and thanks to those who cared for Cora in her final years and days. With special thanks to the staff of Supples Landing, Tim Parent of St. Luke's Anglican Church; staff of Bayshore Medical; Dr. Baxter; and her special friends Denise and Sue.
Respecting Cora’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A graveside celebration of life will be held in the spring at Holy Trinity Anglican Cemetery, Pembroke. Arrangements by the Malcolm, Deavitt & Binhammer Funeral Home, Pembroke.
