Colleen Young

Young, Colleen Georgina - passed away peacefully at Marianhill on Wednesday, November 20, 2019 at the age of 65 years.  

Colleen Young (nee Hein) of Petawawa, best friend and wife of 44 years to Gary Young.  Loving mother of Amy Young (Mark Hiscocks), Orleans; James Young, Kingston and Ashley Young (Phil Dupuis), Chilliwack BC.  Beloved Nana of Lucas & Adelyn.  Daughter of the late Harold and Mary Hein (nee Collins).  Cherished sister of Ronalee Jin (Donald), Belleville; Roger Hein, Pembroke; and Pamela Robinson (Rick Lavigor), Pakenham.  Predeceased by sister Mary-Jane Jones (David), Pembroke.  Daughter-in-law of the late Kenneth and Gaye Young (nee Buurma).  Sister-in-law of Susan Wootton (Shawn), Jane Henderson (Robert), Robert Young (Natalie), Janet Helmich (Johnny), Lisa Roberts (Luke) and April Campbell (Basil).  Predeceased by brother-in-law Kenneth Young (Marilyn).  Colleen is survived by many nieces and nephews. 

Visitation will be held at the Malcolm, Deavitt & Binhammer Funeral Home, 141 Renfrew St., Pembroke on Monday, November 25, 2019 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m.  A Funeral Service will be held in the chapel on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. followed by a luncheon at the Royal Canadian Legion Br. 72, Pembroke.  Respecting Colleen’s wishes, cremation will take place.  Interment of ashes at Wesley United Cemetery, Pembroke at a later date.  As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Ottawa Civic Hospital, Kidney Foundation or Ottawa Heart Institute would be appreciated.  Online donations/condolences are available at www.mdbfuneralhome.com.
