Christine Bergsma

BERGSMA, Christine (nee Drent) of Pembroke, passed away peacefully on October 5, 2012 at the age of 56 years, after a short but hard fought battle with cancer. Christine finished her life in much the same way she lived it - with dignity, humility, patience, empathy and most of all, love. The most important things in Christine's life were her faith and her family. She will be dearly missed by her cherished sweetheart of 37 years, Ralph, and her three children Matthew (Stephanie), Benjamin (Dawn) and Tanya Lott (Jeremy). One of Christine's favourite roles was that of "Beppa" (Grandma) and she will never be forgotten by her 10 precious grandchildren - Ryan, Joel, Ella, Evan, Nathan, Alexander, Caleb, Daniel, Seth, and Stephen. She is also survived by her beloved parents, Egbert and Jantina Drent, sisters Harma Lof (Gerry) & Margaret Schuurmans (Bill), and brother John Drent (Janet); as well as many nieces and nephews. Christine was also blessed to have many extended family and friends in her life, who were all very important to her. The outpouring of love, prayer and support for her and her family during her brief time of illness was appreciated more than any can know. Visitation will be at the PEMBROKE PENTECOSTAL TABERNACLE, Corner of Hwy 17 & 41 on Tuesday from 2 to 4:00 and 7 to 9:00 p.m., and Wednesday after 10:00 a.m. A celebration of Christine's life will be held in the Church on Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. Interment in Beachburg Union Cemetery.
