Carol BRADLEY

d. January 11, 2008

BRADLEY, Carol Elizabeth (nee Hayden) After a courageous battle with cancer until her peaceful passing in Ottawa hospital on Friday, January 11, 2008. Carol Elizabeth Bradley of Pembroke, born in Cobourg on July 19, 1935. Beloved wife of Henry J. Bradley QC. Loving mother of David (Nancy Petrick) Bradley, Thunder Bay; Elizabeth (Jim Belaskie) Bradley, Houston, TX; Matthew (Lisa) Bradley, Pembroke; Henry Christopher (Carolyn) Bradley, Ottawa; Victoria (fiancé Kip Bradfield) Bradley, Massey. Beloved daughter of Rosamond Hayden of Cobourg. Predeceased by father Harold Hayden, brothers Tim Hayden and John Hayden (infant). Dear sister of David (Peggy) Hayden of Scarborough. Cherished grandmother of John James (JJ) and Alexandra Belaskie, John, Marie and Grace Bradley, Olivia Petrick-Bradley and Andrew, Eric and Robin Bradley. Very loving aunt to Jennifer (Charlie) Faulkner, Chicago; and John (Jennifer) Hayden, Whitby. Daughter-in-law of the late Verna J. Dawson of Thunder Bay. Carol moved to Pembroke in 1957 at which time she continued her teaching career for two years at Victoria Street Public School. The 60's and 70's were focused on raising her children and thereafter working with Henry in his law firm. Carol's impact on life in the community was enormous through her involvement in a myriad of clubs, charitable organizations and endeavours. She will be especially remembered for her long-time involvement in the Pembroke Ski Club, Canadian Club, Alexandra Club and the Women's Auxiliary of the First Presbyterian Church. Carol served the people of Ontario during her tenure on the Ontario Parks Council with pride and vigour where she travelled the province at large. Those who knew Carol know that she enjoyed life to the fullest and was grateful for her ability to remain active until overtaken by illness. Many will remember Carol's competitive, no nonsense nature and her particular love of bridge. Carol loved the outdoors and found peace and great satisfaction working in her garden at her home on Supple Street. Until now, Carol continued to be active with Henry on the ski hill, on the tennis court, on the beaches of Mexico, Florida and Mont Ste. Marie, at the horse races in Saratoga and Florida, at the National Arts Centre and on the dance floor. Well known for her infectious laugh and love of a good party, Carol was always happiest when she had the opportunity to host family and friends in her home. Visitation at the MALCOLM DEAVITT & BINHAMMER FUNERAL HOME, 141 Renfrew St, Pembroke on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Service in First Presbyterian Church on Tuesday at 11 a.m., followed by cremation.
