Brian Eldon Craig

April 13, 1958 — April 18, 2024

Calgary

Brian Eldon Craig, beloved son of Marilyn Craig (nee Shouldice) and the late Eldon Craig.

Throughout his youth, Brian enjoyed skiing, boating, swimming, hunting and his school studies. He thoroughly enjoyed music, his tastes often conflicting with his mom’s. During school breaks, Brian worked with his Uncle Weldon who provided him with guidance and a good work ethic. In his early 20’s Brian joined the military which resulted in him being posted to Alberta. The struggles and stresses of life took Brian in a different direction, his military career was ended but he always did his best to cope. Calgary became home, the shores of the Bow River bringing him peace and comfort. His dedicated and consistent letters to his mother would often draw on current affairs, his concerns about the world “going sideways” and inquiries about members of the family – he always kept others in his thoughts. Brian’s kind soul tended to see the best in others, striving to always keep the peace and avoid what he felt was unnecessary conflict.

Brian was born in Maniwaki, Quebec. He was raised and created memories in Pembroke, Ontario. Alberta is where many years were lived, life lessons, hard truths were realized and where he passed away. Quebec is where his final resting place will be, in Rupert Union Cemetery, among the familiar names of loving family.

May he rest in peace.
