BLACK, Brian Bernard - passed away at the Pembroke Regional Hospital on Saturday, April 26, 2014, with his family by his side, at the age of 87 years. Brian Black of Pembroke, survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Ellen Black (nee Cook). Loved and cherished father of Brenda Tripp (Jim), Barbara Woods (Gordon) and Wilma Black. Special grandpa to Kathleen (Kevin), Amanda & Bill; and Shannon (Mat), Lindsay & Kate (Steve). Great-grandpa to Kaleb & Declan. Son of the late William and Myrtle Black (nee McIntyre). Predeceased by siblings Callie Logan (Martin), Keith (Stella Leach), Alice Gilmour (Elmer Mick & Hubert Gilmour), Neil (Mary Berry), and Pansy Prange (Gordon). Uncle to Bill & Bayne Logan, Ann Hepburn, late Beth Edwards, Heather Bradley, late Michael Mick, Holly Burns, Steven Mick, Ruby Black, Margaret McKay, and Currie Prange. Also survived by brothers & sisters-in-law George Cook (Beth), Clara James (late Ed), Elmer Cook, Ed Cook (Viv), Doug Cook (late Mary), Fred Cook (Florence) and predeceased by Bud Cook (Bertha), Edith Pacey (late Almer) and Ruby King (late John Ferguson & late Andy King). Brian leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held at the Malcolm, Deavitt & Binhammer Funeral Home, 141 Renfrew St., Pembroke on Wednesday, April 30, 2014 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at Wesley United Church on Thursday at 2:00 p.m. Interment in Lower Stafford United Church Cemetery at a later date.
