Audrey Evelyn Court

COURT, Audrey – passed away at Miramichi Lodge, Pembroke on December 13, 2022 in her 97^th year.

Audrey Court (nee Smith), wife of over 60 years to the late Gordon William Court (d. July 30, 2011).  Daughter of the late Leonard and Beatrice Smith (nee Layman).  Survived by brother-in-law Edgar Schutt and niece Lori Schutt of Ottawa.  Predeceased by brother Douglas Smith and sister-in-law Lois Schutt (nee Court).

Audrey spent her childhood in Killaloe and moved to Ottawa with her family where they lived during WWII. She worked as a Code Breaker in National Research Council Canada near the end of the war.  She later trained and graduated from the Ottawa Civic Hospital as a Registered Nurse.  She moved to Pembroke and worked as a Registered Nurse for the Pembroke Civic Hospital for many years. 

A Graveside Service honouring Audrey’s life will be held at Wesley United Cemetery, Boundary Rd., Pembroke on Thursday, May 18, 2023 at 3:30 p.m.  Arrangements entrusted to the Malcolm, Deavitt & Binhammer Funeral Home, Pembroke.
