REMUS, Arpa Helga Joanna Peacefully at Bonnechere Manor, Renfrew on Sunday, May 24, 2009 at the age of 91 years. Arpa Remus (nee Stresman), formerly of R. R. # 7, Pembroke, dearly loved mother of Wayne and mother-in-law of Teresa of Douglas, Ontario. Cherished grandmother of Stephen (Melanie MacDonald) and Jennifer (Drew Davidson). Precious great-grandmother of Anna and Ellen Davidson. Sadly missed by brother Verner Stresman, sisters-in-law Elda Stresman and Edith Guest, brother-in-law Gordon Remus and her many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her husband Ed Remus (1996), sisters Selma and Esther, brothers Ewald, Herbert, Edward, Ted and August. Resting at the Malcolm, Deavitt & Binhammer Funeral Home, 141 Renfrew Street, Pembroke on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Service in the Chapel on Wednesday at 11 a.m. Interment in Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Pembroke.
