APPLER, Arletta Mary Louise R.N.
Went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, April 4, 2012 in her 76th year.
During the final days of her journey, despite the fact that her pain and suffering had increased, Arletta's faith did not waver. She was committed to looking steadily ahead to God's promise and assuring all of us that "we will meet again". Her testimony was strong and was witnessed by all who watched her boldly and courageously walk hand in hand with her Saviour Jesus Christ into eternity. Arletta Appler (nee Hass) of Pembroke, beloved wife and best friend of Clarence Appler, who were joined as one in marriage for 54 years. She is Grandmother to Nigel, Sasha, Jasper, Justin & Taylor Appler of Windsor; and Brittany & Courtney Kiehler of Spring, Texas. Arletta was the daughter given by the Lord to the late Arthur and Arletta Hass (nee Schultze).
Arletta was born in Detroit, Michigan on November 24, 1936. She lived in Roseville, Michigan until her Dad passed away, and then moved with her mother to Pembroke, Ontario. Having completed her high school at P.C.V.I. in Pembroke, she entered the Lorraine School of Nursing and graduated as a registered nurse in 1957. Arletta enjoyed and served with compassion in the field of nursing while working at the Pembroke General Hospital and later for Corrections Canada. She was actively involved in the 9th Pembroke Cub and Scouts, several church committees at St. John's Lutheran Church, as well as Pastoral Care volunteer at Marianhill.
The family would like to thank Pastor Alles for all his visits as he shared the Word of God, the faithfulness of her Saviour Jesus Christ, and His promise of eternity. A very warm and special thank-you to her dear nephew and niece Brian and Wanda Hass, who sat by her bedside offering comfort and support during those last days of suffering. They offered themselves graciously and bridged the gap for family members separated by distance who could not always be there, or until they could be. Also to Dr. S. Laliberté, Dr. K.C. Li, and to the P.R.H. 3rd floor medical staff for all their support.
