PRANGE, Alvin (Al) Ellard – passed away peacefully on Monday, November 15, 2021 at the Renfrew Hospice at the age of 90 years.
Alvin Prange of Pembroke, predeceased by his adored wife Joyce (nee Buske). Beloved dad to Karen Prange (Stuart) and Bruce Prange (Michelle); granddad to Alec and Josh; and brother to Elmer. Predeceased by his sisters Mabel, Helen, Florence, Nora and Ella and by brother Gordon and Willard. Dad grew up on the farm of his parents Gustav and Hilda (nee Doering) in Alice Township and worked for the Ontario Dept. of Lands and Forests/Ministry of Natural Resources for 35 years. He was a proud member of the Pembroke Kinsmen Club and an active member at St. Timothy’s Lutheran Church for many years. Dad was a thoughtful, kind man who loved laughter and dancing to “old” music such as polkas and waltzes like his favourite The Lake Dore Waltz. Thanks to the wonderful staff and friends at Supples Landing Retirement Residence for their company and care over many years. Also thanks to the nurses and psw’s especially his “Angel” who cared for him over the past months and the compassionate staff at the Renfrew Hospital.
Respecting Al’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A private family event is planned for the future. Arrangements entrusted to Malcolm, Deavitt & Binhammer Funeral Home, Pembroke. (As an expression of sympathy, donations to Renfrew Hospice or the University of Ottawa Heart Institute would be appreciated). Online donations/condolences are available at www.mdbfuneralhome.com
