Allen KUEHL

d. May 9, 2012

KUEHL, Allen James On Wednesday, May 9, 2012 He did it his way in the end, fast...Allen James Kuehl was know for talking fast, walking fast, eating fast, working fast, but his illness slowed him down the last few years. On May 9, after a telephone conversation with his daughter, just 15 minutes later, his loving wife Georgina found him in his favourite chair, in his final sleep. Allen was born in Killaloe in 1935 on the family farm, one of 5 children (warren (Elizabeth), Russell (d. Marilyn), Lois (James Henneberry) and Roy (Sue Parks)). His life on the farm taught him how to work hard. At the age of 14 he went into a lumber camp and by 17 he was on the CN Railroad, but his dreams were realized when he was accepted into the OPP in 1959 and stationed in North Bay. He had already married his sweetheart and together they worked tirelessly to help others in both their respective careers, the community and the church. Al thrived in his role as a police officer and in 1971, he was made detachment commander in Warren where he trained many young police officers over the years. Following his transfer to Pembroke, he attained his Sergeant stripes. After retiring, he again embraced the community by joining Kiwanis and became President in 1994. Most important to him were Georgina and his girls (Kim and Bonnie (James)), his grandchildren (Matthew, Kelsey and Bronwyn), his dog Tiger (d) and cat Abby. Allen loved to see his family and friends together, so please join the family as they share memories of their wonderful friend. Visiting at Malcolm, Deavitt & Binhammer Funeral Home, 141 Renfrew St., Pembroke on Monday, May 14 from 3-8 pm. Funeral will be on Tuesday, May 15 at First Baptist Church, 210 Mary St. at 11am. Lunch will be served after. In lieu of flowers, a donation to First Baptist Church Memorial Fund would be appreciated
