It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce that Alice Ruth Myre has left this world on Tuesday, October 14, 2014 in her 77th year. She will be remembered with fondness and respect and we'll never forget her big, beautiful smile and generous hugs and kisses. Her favorite quote was "Oh well there" which immediately seemed to calm every situation. Her only one love was her beloved husband, the late Gordon Myre. She was the devoted mother of five daughters and one son - Gail Myre, Cambridge; Deborah Myre, Cambridge; Liane Biesenthal (Ray Norlock), Pembroke; Colleen Remus (Kevin Vaillancourt), Pembroke; Harlene Yeas (Danny); Petawawa; and Terry Myre (Kim), Kitchener. Proud Nana of Shelly Klimtschuck (Joe); Allison Yeas, Calvin Yeas (Rhea Cassista); Lisa Levesque (Marcel); and Landon & Dylan Myre and the late Selina Myre. Loving Great-Nana of Grace & Talia Klimtschuck and Jason Levesque. (She will also be missed by Jesse and Kaylee.) Daughter of the late Herb & Gertrude Selles (nee Hoffman). Beloved sister of the late Garry Selles (Claudette), Chelmsford; and Rick Selles (Eleanor), Pembroke. Dear step-daughter of Mildred Selles, Orleans; step-brother Dale and step-sister Sharon. Alice will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Special thanks to Marianhill Palliative Care Unit for making our dear mother comfortable and pain free. This helped to make our sad ending better. Also, thanks to Dr. Wheatley-Price, Dr. R. Christink, nurses & PSWs. Thank you to one and all who gave the gift of "Presence".
Visitation will be held at the Malcolm, Deavitt & Binhammer Funeral Home, 141 Renfrew St., Pembroke, on Friday, October 17, 2014 from 7-9:00 p.m. only, followed by cremation. Alice will be placed to rest at the Zion Evangelical United Cemetery, Boundary Road, Pembroke, on Sunday, October 19, 11:00 a.m. Contributions in Alice's honor can be made to the Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation.
