SILKE, Alfred Lawrence Passed away peacefully in the Pembroke Regional Hospital on Wednesday, July 28, 2010 in his 93rd year. Alfred Silke of Victoria St., Petawawa, beloved husband for almost 68 years of Lila Silke (nee Raglin). Dear father of Dorothy Robichaud (Jean-Claude), Salisbury, NB; and Patricia Mielke (Alvin), Petawawa. Grandfather to David Simpson, Petawawa; Earla Lee Laleff (Steve), Barrie; Mark Simpson, Goose Bay, Labrador; Michael Mielke (Roberta), Petawawa; Mary-Anne McConnell (Dave), Petawawa; and Andrew Mielke (Tammy), Pembroke. Great-grandfather to Lila Ann McConnell; Victoria McConnell; Brittany Mielke; Colton Simpson; Brandon Simpson; Annakyta Simpson; Connor & Alissa Laleff; Amanda Landry; and Taylor Ferneyhough. Son of the late John & Martha Silke (nee Leeder). Predeceased by brothers Robert, Ernie, Carl, Gordon, John and sisters Clara Teschner, Ida Paquette, Freida Tokio, Ella Conley, Florence Hubert and Amanda Schultz. Survived by many nieces and nephews. By request there will be immediate family viewing only. Funeral Service will be held in St. John's Lutheran Church Petawawa on Saturday at 11:30 a.m. Interment in the parish cemetery.
