DUNCAN, A. Ross
Passed away peacefully at Miramichi Lodge, Pembroke on Saturday, April 11, 2009 in his 98th year.
Ross Duncan of Pembroke, and formerly of Hamilton, dearly loved husband of Dorothy Duncan (nee Ball), and by first marriage the late Helen MacEachern. Dear father of Cheryl Jackson (husband Bill), Pembroke; and the late D. Ross Duncan (wife Joy), Wingham. Grandpa Ross to Michael Duncan (wife Naomi), Stratford; Jodi Stewart (husband Scott), North Carolina; and Anne Jackson-Beek (husband Edmund), Petawawa. Great-grandpa Ross to Jael, Charity, Irish, Kahlan, and Shane. Son of the late John and Nellie Duncan (nee Lord). Ross was a Veteran of World War II, serving with 119 Bomber Squadron, Hamilton. He was a member of the Hamilton Tigers and the Leander Rowing Club of Hamilton, which qualified for the 1936 Olympics. He also played football, baseball, water polo, and in later years, golf, until poor eyesight forced retirement.
Respecting Ross' wishes, there will be no visitation, cremation. A Memorial Service will be held in Calvin United Church, Pembroke on Wednesday, April 29, at 11:00 a.m. Interment of ashes in Hamilton Cemetery at a later date.
